FAQ'S

Does the camp package include airfare?

You are responsible for booking your own airfare.

We recommend you fly into Rio de Janeiro Airport (GIG) on Sunday November 17, 2024. Our welcome dinner is Sunday night, make sure you don't miss it!

We recommend you depart midday Sunday November 24, 2024.

What about accommodations?

We want to be accessible to a wider range of budgets for this year's camp, so allowing everyone to book their own accommodations was the best choice.

We can recommend a few hotels: Windsor Leme, and Windsor Plaza are great options! Airbnb's options are innumerable and for all budget ranges!

Can I get transportation from the airport to the hotel?

The most convenient way to get to the hotel in Rio is by Uber. It's safe, reliable, and cheap.

Do I need a Visa to go to Brazil as an American citizen?

Nope! Brazil found out we were heading back for the second version of the camp and postponed the visa requirement for US passport holders until 2025.

All you need is a passport.

What do I pack?

Rio in November is a tropical paradise so keep that in mind. In addition to your normal vacation clothing we recommend packing:

  • 5 shorts & rash guards
  • Beach wear
  • Running shoes and flip flops
  • Dinner outfits!

Where will we be training?

We want everyone to experience Rio to its fullest, so we will be training at Carlson Gracie Leme. A great gym with nice facilities in Leme.

There's even a great Acai kiosk right outside for that post training fuel.

Can I get my laundry done at the camp?

Yes! We will collect training clothes after every training session and have it ready by the next day.

Are the coaches available for privates?

Of course! These can be scheduled ahead of time or once in Rio. In addition all the coaches will be training everyday!

Will there be cool guest coaches / appearances?

Yes. At least one surprise ADCC veteran will be joining us! Maybe two...

Where should I book my stay?

We suggest you stay near Carlson Gracie Leme, located here. This is where the training sessions will be held. It's located in an area of Rio called Leme, at the end of Copacabana beach.

What if I want to find other folks going to the camp to share accomodations with?

As soon as you book you will be added to a WhatsApp groupchat where you can reach out to fellow camp goers and coordinate!

Rio has accommodation offering from $20 a night hostels to penthouses like the movies, options are plentiful!

Last year we had folks who booked stays together and had a blast sharing a space.

When is the best time to buy flights?

Your best bet is to use a flight price tracking app like Hopper to monitor prices. Our team will do their best to make Instagram posts when flights are cheap.

In our experience about 3-4 months away is a good time, but you should start monitoring as soon as you book.

Will there be acai?

In copious amounts.

Refunds?

No refunds due to the upfront nature of our costs. If you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact us and we will try to work something out.

We will provide a detailed daily schedule closer to camp start.

Training will end at noon to give you plenty of time everyday to enjoy everything Rio has to offer.
